Monroe County Schools attended a second briefing with the National Weather Service today about the possibility of winter weather. Due to the chance of ice in the morning, Monroe County Schools will be closed for students and staff on Friday, January 10, 2025. Current forecasts predict freezing rain and ice beginning as early as 4 a.m. All extracurricular activities will be canceled for Friday and Saturday. Classes will resume on Monday, January 13, 2025.

Monroe County Schools attended a briefing with the National Weather Service today about the possibility of winter weather later this week. It’s too soon to tell exactly how the potential winter storm will affect our area, but the NWS says there is the possibility of a mixture of sleet, freezing rain, or even snow. We will attend another weather briefing tomorrow before making any decisions about schedule changes.
In the meantime, please make sure your contact information is updated in Infinite Campus so we can reach you if necessary. We will use this information to call or text you if we make any adjustments to the school schedule. Also, download our Monroe County Schools app in the App or Google Play Stores, and make sure you enable notifications. It’s the fastest way for us to get urgent information to you.

Attention elementary & middle school parents: you are invited to a Thanksgiving Meal at your child's school. The menu includes turkey & dressing with gravy, cranberry sauce, sweet potato soufflé, southern style green beans, and banana pudding. The cost is $5 per adult.
To make sure we have enough for all, you must RSVP to this event. Your child should have a form in his/her book bag for you to fill out and send back with your payment. The deadline for returning the Thanksgiving Meal form will be November 15th.
