For Immediate Release
On Thursday, March 26, 2026, Hubbard Elementary School administrators received a report of a 4th-grade substitute teacher watching adult explicit content on his personal digital device in the classroom. The administrators immediately began investigating this matter, and the substitute teacher was removed from the classroom. Hubbard administration also notified the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
The substitute teacher spoke with the School Resource Officer as well as an MCSO deputy and was cooperative throughout both the school-level and MCSO investigation. The SRO did not see any evidence of the claim. The investigation subsequently moved to the Sheriff’s Office. The investigation involved multiple interviews and a digital forensics search of the device that lasted over multiple weeks. The substitute teacher continued to cooperate with authorities throughout the investigation. Earlier this week, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office notified Monroe County Schools that there was no evidence to support the original claims.
The school district takes these matters seriously. The district is appreciative of the support offered by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
