Laura Rackley currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) for Monroe County Schools. She also holds the position of Chief Executive Officer for the Monroe County College and Career Academy, which is scheduled to open its doors to students in August 2025. Mrs. Rackley's targeted start date is January 3, 2025.
Mrs. Rackley brings extensive experience in career and technical education to these roles. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to preparing students for success in both college and the workforce. Her leadership has been instrumental in developing innovative programs that bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application.
As the founding CEO of the Monroe County College and Career Academy, Mrs. Rackley is dedicated to creating a premier educational institution that will serve as a hub for career-focused learning. Under her guidance, the Academy is designed to provide students with hands-on experience, industry certifications, and pathways to postsecondary success.
Mrs. Rackley works closely with local business partners, community stakeholders, and educational institutions to ensure that CTAE programs align with workforce needs and provide students with relevant skills for high-demand careers. Her collaborative approach has strengthened relationships between schools and industry, creating valuable opportunities for students through internships, work-based learning, and mentorship programs.
Laura is married to Lance Rackley, the Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Finance. They have two children: James, a sophomore at the University of Georgia, and John, a sophomore at Jones County High School.
With a passion for educational innovation and student achievement, Mrs. Rackley continues to advocate for expanding access to quality career and technical education for all students in Monroe County.
