The Monroe County Board of Education, during its regular meeting on June 13, 2023, moved forward with the advertisement of a proposed 2023-24 budget in anticipation of giving it final approval in July. Additionally, the Board adopted a Spending Resolution for the new fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023. The Resolution allows the school system to enter a new fiscal year without an approved budget, authorizing the spending of 1/12th of the FY 2023 during July.
The Board will have two public comment sessions on the proposed budget. The first will be held during the regular monthly meeting on July 18, 2023, and the second will be at a called meeting on July 25, 2023.
