TGS 5th graders read “Schooled” by Gordon Korman to learn about character traits, points of view, and sequencing. The main character, Cap, was a hippie and had to adjust to normal life in middle school. Many real life connections were made as well through reading this book. #tgscottelementary #gameon #bearslovetoread #bearslovetiedye

As the GaDOE celebrates National Arts in Education Week, September 11-17, TGS wants to highlight our band, art, and music teachers, Mr. Braswell, Mrs. Hunter, and Mrs. Whitten! From the GaDOE, "We recognize the talents and contributions of theatre, chorus, band, and art teachers and students. Through fine arts education, students learn to solve problems, make decisions, think creatively, and articulate a vision. Students gain a creative and competitive edge because these programs allow them to imagine what might be possible. In addition, art classes give students increased self-esteem, self-discipline, and the responsibility to complete a task from start to finish." Thank you to our Arts teachers! #tgscottelementary #gameon #theartsrock

You spoke, and we heard you! In an effort to alleviate concerns regarding our afternoon car pickup line, we will be making a minor change to our lanes. Starting Tuesday, September 6, PreK and Kindergarten parents will now enter the school’s driveway in the right lane instead of the left. The pickup lane for 3rd-5th grade students will remain the same. Your child will be picked up in the same area in the front of the school. Please be patient as we work to speed up dismissal and ensure students depart safely. #tgscottelementary #gameon #carpoolcangosmoothly #makingchangestomakeitbetter
