Literary Council Meets
The Monroe County Literacy Council met last week to continue literacy initiatives. The group stuffed bags for new PreK and Kindergarten students. These bags contain books, activities, pencils, and resources for families. Bags were donated by Wal-Mart. Bag contents were purchased through fundraising efforts of the Monroe County Literacy Council. The group continues to promote videos of community members (including Monroe County Schools students and staff) reading books aloud. These videos are housed at https://drive.google.com/
