Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)

STEM Program Information:
STEM education is defined as an integrated curriculum that is driven by problem solving, discovery, exploratory project/problem-based learning, and student-centered development of ideas and solutions.

All schools in our district are implementing STEM activities and lessons, focusing on the engineering design process.

STEM Competitive Teams:

Our Robotics program is entering its fifth year in Monroe County Schools.  Every elementary school has a team, and Monroe County Middle School has a Varsity and a Junior Varsity team.  The teams compete in First Lego League Robotics tournaments.  Students are judged in 4 areas: Robot Design, Robot Programming, Teamwork, and a Community Project.
